Our tester came back from a gravel ride with the new Aldo cycling shorts from Santini full of enthusiasm. He particularly liked how comfortable they are to wear, thanks in large part to the wide straps and the seat pad that fits perfectly in every riding situation. The 375 gram trousers (size M) are made from water-repellent "Acquazero" material.
In our experience, it needs a fresh waterproofing treatment after three washes at the latest - otherwise water hardly beads up and the fabric becomes saturated. The medium-thickness, membrane-free fabric is not windproof, but is very vapour permeable. In our experience, the trousers are therefore best suited to temperatures between 5 and 15 degrees.
>> TipThe trousers are easier to put on barefoot because the zip-free leg cuffs tend to stick to your socks.
Strengths: Comfort, sweat transport, features
Weaknesses: Material absorbs moisture
