Individual test: Skinfit WindhosePhoto: Daniel Simon
The wind waistcoat for the legs comes from Skinfit. The Pfafflar Zip Shorts from the Austrian multisport brand are made from elasticated, low-rustle fabric, have a close-fitting cut and are praised by the manufacturer as an all-rounder for summer and winter.

They can be worn on their own as running or climbing trousers, but for road cyclists they are particularly interesting as overtrousers: Their highly wind-repellent, very breathable and water-repellent material extends the temperature range of any cycling trousers. The weight and pack size are roughly equivalent to a wind waistcoat. Thanks to long side zips, the shorts are easy to pull on. Impression after several test rides: a clever piece, especially for alpine tours. Only the waist size adjustment should be improved.

PLUS Very flexible use; small pack size; good fit
MINUS fiddly waistband adjustment
