The new Gore Wear Shield thermal overshoesThe winter overshoes, available in black or neon yellow, are relatively thin and light (126 grams per pair), but thanks to the full-length lining they provide good protection against the cold even at temperatures slightly below freezing. The very tight fit requires a little patience when putting them on, but the winter overshoe then fits perfectly over the racing bike shoe - and the stretch material makes for a slim foot. The waistband at the calf also contributes to a good fit, although it could definitely be a little higher up the leg. The black colour version would benefit from more reflective elements than the narrow strip on the heel, while the neon yellow version is completely convincing. Also great: the reinforced openings on the heel and pedal plate. The Shield thermal overshoes are available in five sizes (S to XXL).
