SQ-Jersey ONE12 XS
SQlab presents the SQ-Jersey One12 XS performance jersey. The German manufacturer based in Taufkirchen near Munich is actually known for its saddles in many different widths and ergonomically customised cockpits. The clothing segment is now relatively new.

The ergonomics specialist praises its new SQ-Jersey One12 XS road bike jersey as the ideal top for long distances and mountain passes. The very lightweight jersey is made of an open-pored and vapour-permeable material that is elastic in all directions, while a seamless collar and bonded arm cuffs are designed to offer additional comfort. A practical detail is a small, waterproof back pocket for small items such as keys or energy bars.

Two test pilots tried out the jersey in sizes L and XL. First impression: The cut is tight and short for competition and fits snugly into every crease of the body, which suits trained and slim-built competition athletes. The seamless collar is cut wide, which makes the collars of vests worn underneath easily visible. At the height of summer, you should apply sun cream to the shoulders and back to avoid the risk of sunburn.

Handling with hooks: SQlab road bike jersey SQ-Jersey One12

We noticed that the front zip is not easy to open with one hand, as the jersey material is very flexible and offers too little resistance to the zip. The so-called "zipper garage" also doesn't always fulfil its purpose because it folds down. On the other hand, all jersey bags offer a stable fit and good load retention. Narrow hands are best suited for loading and unloading due to the narrow openings.

The cut of the jersey, which is only available in black, was convincing in the racing bike position - although the upper body should not be too long, otherwise the belly button will peek out at the front. At the back, the jersey tends to ride up a little - without a pocket load - because the gel print at the waistband lacks a little elasticity. Our tester has yet to give us an impression of how it wears, as she has only ridden a few kilometres in her test jersey.
