Q36.5 Capsule Collection
Q36.5 is launching an exclusive collection with four-time Ironman world champion Daniela Ryf. The capsule collection includes two cycling jerseys and two triathlon one-pieces in the colours Volcanic Black and Lava Red, inspired by the volcanic landscapes of Kona. The Gregarius Pro Jersey weighs just 112 grams and is made from 79% polyester and 21% elastane. The tri skinsuit uses Dottore Clima material and a special triathlon pad made from water-repellent foam.

Signature collection honours triathlon legend

The Italian clothing label Q36.5 has developed a limited product line together with the Swiss triathlon icon. The four garments reflect Ryf's competitive personality and reference her dominant era in Hawaii. Between 2015 and 2018, the athlete won four consecutive titles at the Ironman World Championships on the Pacific island.

The collection interprets two sides of the competition identity: "Angry Bird" stands for uncompromising toughness and the will to win, while "Fly with passion" embodies the joy of sport. Volcanic Black and Lava Red are the contrasting colour worlds that visually translate this duality. The design picks up on the characteristic lava landscapes of Kona, where Ryf became a triathlon legend. The volcanic aesthetic runs through all four products as a unifying element.

Gregarius Pro Jersey: Ultralight aerodynamics

The summer cycling jersey weighs just 112 grams in size M. The micro-perforated front panel allows air to circulate directly to the skin, while the honeycomb-like back structure provides additional ventilation from neck to shoulder. This construction prevents heat build-up even during intensive exertion and high outside temperatures.

The raglan cut eliminates irritating seams on the shoulders and improves the aerodynamic properties. Ribbed sleeves reduce air turbulence on the upper arm, while three stretchy back pockets offer space for energy bars, smartphones or tools. The material composition of 79% polyester and 21% elastane ensures optimum moisture regulation and freedom of movement. The jersey is available for both men and women and features the characteristic all-over prints of both colour variants.

Tri Skinsuit: Graphene fibre technology for multi-competition

The short-sleeved triathlon suit uses the in-house Dottore Clima material with integrated graphene fibres. This carbon structure improves thermoregulation through increased thermal conductivity and accelerates moisture transport. The material remains light even when wet and dries faster than conventional synthetic fibres.

Seamless design on the shoulders and underarms eliminates chafing during swimming and running phases. Lasercut arm cuffs create a smooth transition to the skin without any cutting seams or cuffs. The TRI C interface panel with Dyneema reinforcement increases durability in the riding position and reduces abrasion on the saddle. The special triathlon pad is made of hydrophobic foam that does not absorb water and dries immediately after swimming. This property prevents the unpleasant feeling of wet padding during the 180-kilometre bike ride.

Volcanic Black: fighting spirit in dark elegance

The black colourway embodies Ryf's nickname "Angry Bird" and her uncompromising competitive attitude. The deep black design with volcanic textures is reminiscent of the dark lava fields of Kona, which became the iconic backdrop to her greatest triumphs. This colour scheme appeals to athletes who want to express their mental strength and determination visually.

The dark look offers practical advantages during training and competition: soiling is less noticeable and the clothing retains its flawless appearance even after many washes. The all-over print imitates the rough texture of solidified lava and creates a three-dimensional depth effect. Both the jersey and the skinsuit feature discreet Q36.5 logos that blend harmoniously into the overall design.

Lava Red: Passion in fiery tones

The red edition interprets the motto "Fly with passion" and symbolises the pure joy of triathlon sport. The colour scheme refers to glowing lava and the spectacular sunset over the Pacific that Ryf experienced after her victories in Kailua-Kona. This version appeals to athletes who want to communicate their enthusiasm for the sport through their equipment.

Red has a psychologically activating effect and can increase motivation during hard training sessions. The colour intensity is retained thanks to special dyeing processes, even when exposed to UV radiation and frequent washing. The volcanic print design uses different shades of red from deep Bordeaux to bright crimson. These colour gradients create movement in the design and emphasise the dynamic nature of the triathlon.

Material innovation: thermoregulation is the key

Q36.5 developed both products according to the principle of the optimum body temperature of 36.5 degrees Celsius. The Gregarius Pro Jersey uses a polyester-elastane blend that quickly transports perspiration away from the skin and allows it to evaporate on the outside. The micro-perforated structure creates air channels that ensure cooling even at low riding speeds.

The Dottore Clima material of the Tri Skinsuit goes one step further: graphene fibres conduct heat specifically from hot to cooler areas of the body, thus balancing out temperature differences. This technology prevents localised overheating and reduces the strain on the cardiovascular system. The hydrophobic padding does not absorb water and stays dry even in the rain or after swimming. This property is crucial for comfort during competitions lasting several hours.

Aerodynamic optimisation for speed

Both garments underwent wind tunnel tests to optimise airflow. The raglan cut of the jersey eliminates cross seams at the shoulder that could cause turbulence. The ribbed sleeves create controlled turbulence, which keeps the airflow on the body for longer and reduces drag.

The Tri Skinsuit uses different material zones for optimum aerodynamics: smooth surfaces on the chest and back minimise friction, while structured areas on the sides stabilise the air flow. The laser-cut arm cuffs create a seamless transition between fabric and skin without any irritating edges. The close-fitting design prevents flapping fabric sections that would increase drag. These details can save several minutes in long-distance races.

Q36.5: Innovation from the Dolomites

Luigi Bergamo and Sabrina Emmasi founded the label in South Tyrol in 2013 with a focus on thermoregulation. The company name combines the Latin "quaerere" (to research) with the ideal body temperature of 36.5°C. This philosophy characterises all developments: Clothing should support the body's natural temperature regulation, not hinder it.

The company established woven fabrics in performance clothing, which are now the industry standard. In 2025, Q36.5 expanded the range to include running shoes and the world's first seamless cycling shorts. Professionals such as Tom Pidcock, Cameron Wurf and the entire Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team test the products under competition conditions. The brand is the official partner for leader jerseys at the AlUla Tour, Tour of Oman and Tour de Suisse.
