Assos of Switzerland is one of the pioneers of modern cycling clothing. In 1976, founder Toni Maier was one of the first to use synthetic materials instead of traditional wool and leather. His inspiration came from skiing and wind tunnel tests. Today, 50 years later, Assos is one of the leading premium brands in the industry.
The anniversary collection is based on the proven Equipe R Racing platform, but sets new stylistic accents. Under the motto "Techno-Anarchy", Assos combines Swiss precision with a raw, subcultural look. The graphics take up historical teams such as Cilo and Lejeune and interpret them in a modern way. Poetic text elements such as "Spinning maps in headlights" complement the design.
The Equipe/Dyora R S11 A50 jersey weighs just 133 grams (size M) and is designed for temperatures between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Adhesive technology is used instead of seams. The racing cut fixes the sleeves just above the elbow. The main fabric is called Aircell and weighs just 110 grams per square metre. It stretches in four directions, dries quickly and is very breathable. At the back, a more stable push-pull fabric (180 g/m²) provides shape and support.
The three rear pockets have a clever system: flexible fabric panels on the inside are designed to keep the contents securely in place even when travelling at speed.
The matching Equipe/Dyora R Bib Shorts S11 A50 are made from Type.911 fabric - an ultra-fine material that is both compressive and hard-wearing. The shorts utilise the patented X-Frame technology and feature the Equipe R S11 seat pad with cushioning system. The leg hems are seamless and equipped with a skin-grip finish that holds without strong pressure.
The limited collection is now available worldwide. The prices are in Assos' typical premium segment: the jersey costs 160 euros, the bib shorts 220 euros.
