Test 2016: X-Bionic Sperewind road bike jacket - With a cardigan on the road bike: X-Bionic on test

X-Bionic promises a lightweight, windproof, warm jacket with particularly good thermoregulation plus improved aerodynamic properties. The latter could not be verified, but in terms of wearing comfort and inner climate, the Spherewind is one of the best jackets you can buy - albeit for expensive money. The jacket is in its element at temperatures from ten degrees Celsius to around freezing point and, depending on how cold you feel, a functional vest is enough for a great climate. At the neck, where the typical X-Bionic knitted channels run through the collar, you can clearly feel the air exchange. The jacket fits like a long-sleeved jersey, doesn't flutter or rustle and, with three back pockets plus a zip pocket and various reflective sections, is as elaborately equipped as it is very well made. Two suggestions for improvement: longer, tighter cuffs and a drawstring waistband for a more form-fitting fit.
