The Q36.5 Dottore Light Rain Jacket is one of the lightest rain jackets for cyclists and combines very light nylon with a waterproof membrane. The Italian premium brand sets standards in terms of quality and function as well as the price of 350 euros.

Q36.5 stands for extremely lightweight, technically sophisticated cycling clothing made in Italy. The new Dottore Light Rain Jacket consistently follows this approach. According to the manufacturer, it is the brand's lightest rain jacket to date and combines 55 g/m² ripstop nylon with a 10,000 mm membrane. The result is a very small pack size with a high level of weather protection.

The jacket is designed for riders who need quick protection in changeable conditions. Short showers, long descents or unstable spring weather are among its favourite areas of use. The hand-taped seams are designed to improve both impermeability and fit. Four large reflective elements increase visibility, while a double zip makes it easier to regulate the temperature.

Proven in practice

In the test, the Dottore Light Rain Jacket shows that Q36.5 takes its promises seriously. In size L it weighs only 121 grammes - a very good value for a three-layer rain jacket. The material is slightly rugged but comfortable to wear. The sporty cut is perfect for racing bikes and stays in place thanks to the elasticated hem.

The soft, high collar and close-fitting sleeve flaps are particularly positive features. They provide a good seal and prevent cold wind and rain from penetrating. The double zip can be opened from below, which facilitates ventilation and allows access to jersey pockets.

In the spray and Suter test, the jacket impresses with very good water repellency. Water runs off quickly, and only after two minutes under 4000 millimetres of water column did the inside show slight moisture at individual seams. This is a good result for such a lightweight jacket. At 350 euros, it is ambitiously priced and is clearly aimed at a demanding target group. However, anyone who is often out and about in uncertain weather conditions or is looking for an extremely lightweight backup jacket will find a high-quality companion here.
