A handful of fabric - that's all you need to arm yourself against the morning chill or the wind. But it shouldn't be more than that, otherwise the jacket will stay at home because it takes up too much space in the jersey pocket, and then even the best cut and best material won't help. Our seven test models, weighing between 75 and 120 grams, therefore offer the best conditions for being parked in the jersey pocket during the tour. In the beautiful sunshine on the Spanish Costa Daurada, the TOUR camp participants still only wanted to take the lightest fabric with them on the day's tour. Unbeatable in this respect: Mavic's 75 gram "Helium" model, followed by the barely heavier "Hot Pack" from Sportful, which reader tester Robert Dauner from Munich enthusiastically described as "a breath of nothing with great wind protection".

SHORT & SHORT

The seven jackets in the test impress as functional companions against wind, coolness and light rain with a small pack size and weight (between 75 and 120 grams). The most popular model in the reader test was Mavic's "Helium". The "Orthez" model from Jeantex offers the best protection against rain with good breathability in the comparison.
