Castelli positions the Do.Di.Ci. as a cross between a long-sleeved jersey and a lightweight jacket. This approach is well suited to its intended use: the fabric is designed to block the wind without causing heat to build up during fast riding, climbs and varying levels of exertion. The regular fit, available in sizes XS to 3XL, ensures a close-fitting silhouette on the road bike.
With a top mark of 1.0 for weather protection, the Castelli Do.Di.Ci. Jacket an effective barrier against cool air and changing conditions. The covered front zip reduces direct airflow. This is particularly important on fast descents or during longer stretches in windy conditions.
However, the weather jersey is no substitute for a proper rain jacket in the event of persistent rain. It is designed primarily for cool, windy rides, where freedom of movement and moisture management are more important than maximum waterproofing. Anyone who trains at a brisk pace in autumn or spring and is looking for a less bulky alternative to a winter jacket will find this a well-thought-out option.
TOUR awards a score of 1.4 for fit and comfort. The jacket has a sporty fit without unnecessarily restricting movement on the bike. The silicone waistband keeps the hem in place even when sitting in a low position and prevents it from riding up at the back.
The standard size range makes it easier to choose. Nevertheless, the jacket should be tried on as you would a functional road cycling top: the intended use requires a close-fitting cut, whilst a model that is too large can compromise protection against the wind and ventilation. The Do.Di.Ci. is not really designed for relaxed rides with several thick layers worn underneath.
Weighing 240 grams in size L, the Castelli scores 1.5 for weight and pack size. This makes it significantly lighter than traditional, more heavily insulated winter jackets, but it is not an emergency windbreaker that will fit into the smallest jersey pocket. The weight is in keeping with the materials used and the level of protection it offers.
It is therefore advisable to plan your clothing carefully for long training rides. When temperatures are consistently cool, the Do.Di.Ci. can serve as the main outer layer. If the chance of rain increases, you should pack an additional, compact rain jacket.
TOUR gives the features a rating of 2.0. Positive points include the silicone waistband, the reinforced zip and the silicone waistband’s good grip. However, given the price of 230 euros, it would be desirable to have even more reflective elements, particularly for cycling at dusk.
Another practical feature is the wide range of colours available. This makes it easier to choose a cycling jersey that matches your existing wardrobe and, depending on the model, can also improve your visibility on the road.

The Castelli Do.Di.Ci. Jacket is an excellent weather-proof jersey for intense road cycling rides in cool, windy conditions. Its impressive protection against the elements, sporty regular fit and moderate weight for this category are clear selling points. Weighing in at 240 grams, it remains light enough without becoming a minimalist emergency jacket. There are some compromises in terms of features: more reflective piping would be desirable for rides at dusk. The wide range of colours, on the other hand, is a plus. Recommended for ambitious riders looking for a close-fitting top for fast-paced training, but not for continuous rain or very leisurely winter rides.
