The debate amongst cyclists is as old as the sport itself: short-fingered or long-fingered gloves? Whilst some opt for maximum breathability in summer, mountain bikers and gravel riders in particular prefer the protection offered by long-fingered gloves against branches and grazes in the event of a fall. KinetiXx offers, with its new Lovino long-fingered gloves and the Limor short-fingered gloves is now offering both options – with a focus on their environmental impact.
Both models from the German manufacturer’s change2GREEN (C2G) range are made from 97 per cent recycled materials. Recycled Econyl yarn, made from waste materials such as disused fishing nets, fabric scraps and industrial plastic, is used for the back of the glove. The soft micro-suede palm is also made from recycled material.
Despite the use of sustainable materials, users do not have to compromise on comfort or fit. An elasticated cuff fits snugly around the wrist, whilst a pull tab and removal aid make it easier to put on and take off the gloves. Soft, lightweight padding on the palm cushions the impacts on the hand and wrist whilst riding.
The Lovino touchscreen gloves also feature touchscreen functionality on the thumb and index finger, so that electronic devices can be operated with ease whilst riding. Both models are available in three muted colours each.
