City cyclists know the problem: where to put the bulky helmet when you reach your destination. Three manufacturers with different folding systems at Eurobike promise a remedy.
The Closca Fuga helmet was honoured with the Eurobike Award. With its small and flat pack size, this folding helmet even fits in a handbag or briefcase.
The manufacturer is not alone with this idea: Carrera has been offering a helmet with transverse grooves for some time now, which means it can be pushed together narrowly.
New at Eurobike is the French start-up Overade. The "Plixi" helmet has a hinge in the centre and impresses at first glance with the greatest stability: once the helmet has been completely unfolded and locked into place, it is pressure-resistant in every direction. This does not apply to the other two helmets. However, all folding helmets fulfil the current safety standards.
