The product is not entirely new, but it really came into the limelight at Eurobike: a bike fitting box for everyone. For an affordable price of 29.95 euros, the customer receives a box with instructions, spirit level, plumb line, measuring tape and four templates. Cyclists can determine their correct seating position in seven steps. The "Road bike, cyclocross, triathlon" set is available for sporty riders. This is certainly no substitute for a bike fitting. However, it should help "to determine a good basic position", as Janina Haas from the manufacturer Ergon promises.
It starts with setting the saddle height, followed by the saddle angle, saddle offset, seat length, cant, cockpit setting and pedal plate alignment. The set should be particularly suitable for road bike beginners who have not had a bike fitting from a specialist dealer. Due to different mobility, new saddle shapes and other individual variables, the limits of bike fitting according to a template are of course foreseeable.
