Trek Domane SLR 6 Gen 4

The 2023 "Domane SLR 6 Gen 4" model from Trek is a high-quality road bike designed for discerning riders. Priced at 7,999 EUR, it offers a wide range of technical features and specifications that ensure both performance and comfort.

The frame of the Domane SLR 6 Gen 4 is made from 800 Series OCLV Carbon and is fitted with IsoSpeed technology, which absorbs vibrations and thus ensures a smoother ride. The frame also features an integrated storage compartment, a tapered head tube and internal cable routing, ensuring a clean look and optimised aerodynamics. The 3S chain guide, mudguard eyelets and flat-mount disc brake mounts round off the well-thought-out design. The thru-axles measure 12x100 mm at the front and 142x12 mm at the rear, providing additional stability. The maximum load capacity is 125 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs just 8 kg.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano hydraulic disc brakes (model BR-R7170) at the front and rear, featuring 160 mm rotors mounted via the Centre Lock system. The brakes use resin brake pads with cooling fins, which ensure reliable and consistent braking performance.

The gear system comprises Shimano 105 R7170 shift levers with 12 speeds, as well as a Shimano 105 R7150 Di2 front derailleur in the brazed-on version. The crankset is also from Shimano (model R7100) and offers a gear ratio of 50/34 teeth with a crank arm length of 170 mm. The cassette is a Shimano 105 7100 with a range of 11–34 teeth.

The Domane SLR’s fork is made of carbon and features a tapered carbon steerer tube, internal brake cable routing and mudguard mounts. The handlebars are Bontrager Pro IsoCore VR-SF with a width of 40 cm, whilst the stem is a Trek RCS Pro with a -7-degree angle and a length of 90 mm.

The wheelset consists of Bontrager Aeolus Pro 37 OCLV carbon rims, which are tubeless-ready and have a rim depth of 37 mm. The hubs are designed for thru-axles (100x12 mm at the front and 142x12 mm at the rear) and are compatible with an 11-speed Shimano freehub.

The saddle is a Bontrager Verse Short Elite with stainless steel seat stays and a width of 155 mm. The seatpost is a Domane Carbon seatpost with a KVF profile, a 20 mm offset and a length of 280 mm.

The frame’s geometry offers a balanced blend of comfort and performance. The reach is 37 mm, the stack 56 mm, the seat tube length 48 mm and the top tube length 53 mm. The head tube angle is 71 degrees, and the seat tube angle is 74 degrees. The head tube length is 14 mm, the chainstay length is 42 mm, the stack height is 74 mm and the wheelbase is 100 mm.
