Trek Domane AL 4 Gen 4

The "Domane AL 4 Gen 4" model from Trek, released in 2024, is a high-quality road bike characterised by its robust construction and carefully selected components. The frame is made from 100 Series Alpha aluminium and features a tapered head tube, internal cable routing and mudguard mounts. The flat-mount disc brake mounts and UDH provide additional stability and safety, whilst the 142 x 12 mm thru-axle ensures ease of use. The bike’s maximum load capacity is 125 kg, whilst it weighs 10 kg.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano Tiagra hydraulic disc brakes, both front and rear, with 160 mm rotors and a 6-bolt mounting. Shifting is controlled via Shimano Tiagra R4725 shift levers with a reduced grip width and a 10-speed drivetrain. The front derailleur is a Shimano Tiagra 4700 with a clamp diameter of 31.8 mm.

The Domane AL carbon fork features a tapered carbon steerer tube, internal brake routing and mudguard eyelets. The crankset is a Shimano Tiagra 4700 with a 50/34 tooth ratio and a length of 170 mm. The cassette is also by Shimano and offers a 10-speed system with a range of 11–32 teeth. Power is transmitted via a Shimano Tiagra HG54 chain.

The handlebars are aluminium Bontrager Comp with a clamp diameter of 31.8 mm, a reach of 80 mm and a drop of 121 mm. The width of the top tubes is 38 cm, whilst the width of the down tubes is 42 cm. The stem is a Bontrager Elite with a clamp diameter of 31.8 mm, Blendr compatibility, an angle of 7 degrees and a length of 80 mm.

The wheelset consists of Bontrager Paradigm SL rims, which are tubeless-ready and have an internal width of 21 mm. The hubs are Formula RX-512 at the front and Formula RX-142 at the rear, both made of aluminium with a 6-hole disc mount. The saddle is a Verse Short with steel rails and a width of 145 mm, mounted on a Bontrager Comp seatpost made from 6061 aluminium with a diameter of 27.2 mm, an offset of 8 mm and a length of 250 mm.

The frame geometry offers a reach of 37 mm, a stack of 54 mm, a seat tube length of 44 mm and a top tube length of 52 mm. The head tube angle is 71 degrees and the seat tube angle is 75 degrees. The head tube length is 12 mm, the chainstay length is 42 mm and the standover height is 72 mm. The bike’s wheelbase is 100 mm in total.
