Trek Domane AL 2 Gen 4

The "Domane AL 2 Gen 4" model from Trek, released in 2024, is a versatile road bike available at a price of 1,199 EUR. The frame is made from 100 Series Alpha Aluminium and features a tapered head tube, internal cable routing, mudguard mounts, a flat-mount disc brake mount, UDH and a 142 x 12 mm thru-axle. The bike’s maximum load capacity is 125 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 10 kg.

The braking system comprises Tektro C550 mechanical 2-piston disc brakes with Flat Mount at the front and rear. The shift levers are Shimano Claris ST-R2000-R for 8-speed on the right and Shimano Claris ST-R2000-L for 8-speed on the left. The front derailleur is a Shimano Claris R2000 with a clamp diameter of 31.8 mm. The fork is made from Domane AL Carbon with a tapered carbon steerer tube, internal brake cable routing, mudguard eyelets, a flat-mount disc mount and a 12x100 mm thru-axle.

The crankset is a Shimano RS200 with a compact gear ratio of 50/34 and a crank arm length of 165 mm. The bottom bracket is a Shimano UN300 threaded cartridge bottom bracket with an axle length of 110 mm and a diameter of 68 mm. The cassette is a Shimano HG31, CS-HG31 with an 11–32 tooth range for 8 speeds. The drivetrain is completed by an 8-speed Shimano Sora HG71 chain.

The handlebars are aluminium Bontrager Comp with a clamp diameter of 31.8 mm, a reach of 80 mm and a drop of 121 mm. The width of the top section is 36 cm, whilst the bottom section is 40 cm wide. The stem is a Bontrager Elite with a clamp diameter of 31.8 mm, Blendr compatibility, a 7-degree angle and a length of 70 mm.

The wheelset consists of Bontrager Paradigm SL Tubeless Ready rims with 24 holes and an internal width of 21 mm. The hubs are Formula RX-512 at the front and Formula RX-142 at the rear, both made of aluminium with a 6-hole disc mount. The front hub has a 100 x 12 mm thru-axle, whilst the rear hub has a 142 x 12 mm thru-axle and an 11-speed freehub body from Shimano.

The saddle is a Verse Short with steel rails and a width of 145 mm. The seatpost is a Bontrager Comp made from 6061 aluminium with a diameter of 27.2 mm, an offset of 8 mm and a length of 250 mm.
