Scott Scale RC 400 Pro

The "Scale RC 400 Pro" model from Scott, released in 2024, is a high-quality bike designed specifically for young riders. The bike’s frame is made from JR24 susp Disc light, a 6061 aluminium alloy with a curved top tube and a semi-integrated head tube. The frame is also fitted with a SCOTT dropout and IS standard.

For the brakes, Scott has opted for Shimano BR-MT500s at both the front and rear, combined with Shimano BL-MT501 brake levers. The brake discs are Shimano SM-RT56s with a diameter of 160 mm at both the front and rear. The gear system consists of a Microshift ADVENT super short cage clutch with an adjustable ratchet clutch and offers a total of 9 gears. The shift levers are also from Microshift – specifically the ADVENT Pro model with a quick-release trigger and a rubberised lever.

The bike’s fork is an RST F1RST 24" 100-9 Air, specially tuned for children and offering 60 mm of travel. The bottom bracket is a Feimin BB68 cartridge with a square taper. The crankset is a Prowheel BOOM-32P with a length of 140 mm and a 32T aluminium chainring fitted with a PVC cover. The cassette is a Microshift ADVENT H-Series with an 11–38T range and 9 speeds. Power is transmitted via a KMC X9 chain.

The bike features a LEADTEC Kids Riser handlebar made of aluminium, with a diameter of 31.8 mm, a width of 580 mm and a backsweep of 9°. The grips are Syncros Grip Kids D19mm Lock-on. The stem is also by LEADTEC and has a length of 40 mm, an angle of +/-7°, and a diameter of 31.8 mm. The headset is a Feimin FP-H809 with sealed bearings.

The rims are Alexrims MD19 for disc brakes and the spokes are 15G gauge, black and uncoated. The tyres are Schwalbe Rocket Ron Evolution ADDIX Speed, sized 24x2.35" and foldable. The hubs are by Formula: the DC-140-F model with a quick-release mechanism at the front and the DC-38-R model, also with a quick-release mechanism, at the rear.

The saddle is a Syncros Future Pro and the seatpost is made from 2014 aluminium alloy with no offset, measuring 27.2 x 300 mm. The bike is supplied in packaging measuring 23 mm wide, 71 mm high and 126 mm long, and has a gross weight of 17,540 g. The “Scale RC 400 Pro” model is available in one size and costs 1,199 EUR.
