Scott Scale 16

The "Scale 16" model from Scott, released in 2024, is a high-quality children’s bike designed specifically for young riders. Priced at 399 EUR, it offers solid specifications and a well-thought-out design focused on durability and safety.

The Scale 16’s frame is made from robust JR16 V-Brake 6061 aluminium alloy, featuring a curved top tube and a semi-integrated head tube. The rigid fork is also made from the same 6061 aluminium alloy and is designed for V-brakes. The bike has a total weight of just 7 kg, making it light and easy to handle, and it is designed for a maximum rider weight of up to 50 kg.

The Scale 16’s braking system consists of Tektro J-310 V-brakes at both the front and rear, operated by Tektro Kids’ brake levers. This ensures reliable braking performance and easy operation for children’s hands. The bike features a simple single-speed drivetrain, which makes maintenance easier and simplifies operation for young riders.

The Scale 16 is fitted with Kids pedals featuring reflectors, a threaded, square-type BB68 bottom bracket, and a Prowheel crankset with 28 teeth and a length of 102 mm. The chain is a KMC S1, which is renowned for its reliability. The sprocket consists of a 16-tooth freewheel sprocket.

The handlebars are aluminium Kids riser bars, 460 mm wide with a 20 mm rise. The grips are Syncros Toddler grips, specially designed for small hands. The stem is an aluminium Ahead stem, 30 mm long with a 25.4 mm clamp. The semi-integrated headset is 1 1/8" in size.

The rims are made from black aluminium and each have 20 spokes. The spokes are 15G UCP and are also black. The tyres are Kenda K905 K-RAD, measuring 16x2.125", fitted to both the front and rear. The hubs are KT-122F at the front and KT-A13R at the rear, both with 20 spoke holes and nut fastening.

The saddle is a Syncros Scale JR16, designed specifically for children, and the seat post is made of an aluminium alloy, measuring 26.8x200 mm. A handy kickstand is also included.

The Scale 16’s packaging dimensions are 21 mm wide, 56 mm high and 93 mm long, with a gross weight of 10,140 g. The model is available in one size.
