Scott Roxter 14

The "Roxter 14" model from Scott, released in 2024, is a high-quality children’s bike that stands out for its robust construction and well-thought-out features. Priced at 349 EUR, the bike offers excellent value for money.

The Roxter 14’s frame is made from a JR14 Coaster alloy – specifically, Alloy 6061 – which is renowned for its durability and lightness. The frame features a curved top tube and a semi-integrated head tube. The rigid fork is BMX-style and made from HiTen steel, which provides additional stability. The bike’s maximum load capacity is 50 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs just 7 kg, making it easy for children to handle.

The bike is fitted with V-brakes at both the front and rear, operated via Tektro Kids’ levers. This ensures reliable braking performance and ease of use for young riders. The Roxter 14 has a simple drivetrain with just one gear, which minimises maintenance and makes it easier to use. The crankset consists of a one-piece crank with 28 teeth, whilst the sprocket has 18 teeth. The drivetrain is completed by a KMC S1 chain.

The Roxter 14’s handlebars are aluminium Kids Riser Bars, which are 460 mm wide and have a 20 mm rise. The grips are Syncros Toddler Grips, which have been specially designed for children’s hands. The stem is an aluminium Ahead stem, 30 mm long with a 25.4 mm clamp. The semi-integrated headset is 1 1/8 inches in size.

The rims are made of black aluminium and each have 16 spokes. The spokes are 15G UCP and are also black. The tyres are Kenda K841 Contact, measuring 14x2.125 inches, which ensure good grip and comfort. The front hub is a KT-183F with 20 holes and a bolt-on axle, whilst the rear hub is a KT-305RB with 28 holes, a bolt-on axle and a coaster brake.

The saddle is a Syncros Roxter JR14, which is specially designed to meet children’s needs. The seat post is made of aluminium and measures 26.8x160 mm. The pedals are children’s pedals with reflectors, which improve visibility and safety.

The bike’s gross weight is 15560 g and the model is available in a single size, known as the SCO Roxter 14 One Size. Overall, the Scott Roxter 14 is a well-designed and well-equipped children’s bike that offers both safety and riding enjoyment.
