Scott Contessa 24

The "Contessa 24" model from Scott, released in 2024, is a high-quality youth bike characterised by its well-thought-out features and robust construction. The bike is priced at 499 EUR. The frame of the Contessa 24 Junior is made from an aluminium alloy (Alloy 606) and features a semi-integrated head tube design as well as a curved top tube, which allows for a low step-through height. The frame design, featuring SCOTT dropouts and V-brakes, ensures stability and safety. The maximum load capacity is 50 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 11 kg.

The braking system is specially designed for children and comprises Lee-Chi TX-119L V-brakes at both the front and rear, operated by Tektro TS325A brake levers. The gear system consists of an 8-speed Shimano RD-TX800 Tourney, operated via the Shimano SL-RS45-8R Revo shifter. The SR Suntour XCT-JR 24 fork offers 50 mm of travel and is fitted with a softer spring to enhance comfort for young riders.

The bike is fitted with MARWI SP-700 pedals, which feature reflectors. The bottom bracket is a Feimin BB68 cartridge with a square taper. The Prowheel crankset consists of a 140 mm aluminium crank with a 32-tooth chainring and a double chain guard (PVG Double Cover). The cassette is a SunRace CSM55 with 8 speeds and a 11–34T range. The drivetrain is completed by a KMC Z8.3 chain.

The handlebars are 560 mm wide aluminium Junior Flat-Bar handlebars, combined with Syncros Youth grips for optimum grip. The stem is a LEADTEC LCS-7130, 50 mm long with a 25.4 mm clamp. The headset is a Feimin FP-H807, semi-integrated with a diameter of 1 1/8 inches. The bike’s rims are Alex C-1000 models, fitted with Kenda K1227 Booster tyres in size 24x2.2" and with a TPI of 30. The hubs are KT-A55F at the front and KT-A52R at the rear, both with quick-release (QR) mechanisms. The spokes are black and weigh 15g each.

The Syncros Youth saddle ensures comfort, whilst the aluminium seatpost, with a diameter of 26.8 mm and a length of 300 mm, provides additional stability. A handy kickstand is also included to make parking the bike easier.

The packaging dimensions are 21 mm wide, 66 mm high and 124 mm long, with a gross weight of 15320 g. The “Contessa 24” model is available in one size and is an excellent choice for young cyclists who value quality and reliability.
