Lapierre Xelius SL 9.0

The Xelius SL 9.0 model from Lapierre from 2022 represents a state-of-the-art racing machine that is in the premium category with a price tag of EUR 7799. The frame is made of New Xelius SL Disc thru axle UD Superlight Carbon, which provides an excellent combination of lightness and stiffness. These properties are complemented by the use of the same high-quality materials in the fork, which gives the bike excellent riding dynamics.

For the gearing, Lapierre relies on the advanced technology of the Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 series. The front derailleur and rear derailleur, both from the Dura-Ace Di2 RD-R9250A 12s series, ensure precise and reliable gear changes. The shift levers are also part of the Dura-Ace Di2 series and, with their 2x12-speed configuration, offer a wide range of gear ratio options. The crankset, also from Shimano Dura-Ace, is available in different lengths depending on the frame size and offers an ideal mix of speed and climbing ability with its 52-36T blades.

The drivetrain is supported by the Shimano M9100 12s, while the bottom bracket is a Shimano Press Fit SMBB7241B, which contributes to the overall stiffness and efficiency of the drivetrain. The cassette, a Shimano Dura Ace CS-R9200 with 11-30T, perfectly complements the system and enables smooth power transmission.

The cockpit consists of a Lapierre UD carbon handlebar with a width of 400mm for smaller sizes and 420mm for larger frames to ensure an optimal riding position. The stem, also from Lapierre, is available in different lengths and contributes to customisation. The handlebar tape made of Lapierre Vexgel Tape ensures comfort, while the Acros headset is integrated and, together with the Xelius Acros Spacer, enables precise steering.

The wheels are a highlight of the Xelius SL 9.0: The New Lapierre Road Disc 38 wheelset made of carbon is tubeless ready and, together with the Continental GP5000S tyres in size 700x25, offers an excellent mix of rolling resistance and grip. The saddle, a Fizik Argo Vento R5, in combination with the lightweight Lapierre carbon seatpost, ensures comfort on long rides.

The equipment is rounded off by the VP-335 Clips&Strap pedals, which ensure a good connection between rider and bike. Overall, the Xelius SL 9.0 is a road bike aimed at ambitious riders who value performance, technology and high-quality materials.
