Lapierre Pulsium 3.0 Disc

The 2022 ‘Pulsium 3.0 Disc’ model from Lapierre is a road bike featuring solid specifications and an attractive price-performance ratio of 1,799 EUR. The bike’s frame is made from UD carbon, ensuring high stability whilst keeping the weight low. It features a thru-axle, which provides additional stiffness and safety whilst riding. The fork is also made from 100% carbon and is fitted with a thru-axle, which further enhances the bike’s overall performance.

The bike is fitted with a Shimano Tiagra groupset, which offers 10 speeds and is renowned for its reliability and precise gear changes. The shift levers are Shimano Tiagra BR4720, which use a flat-mount system without a fin. The front derailleur is a Shimano Tiagra FD-R4700F, which works in combination with the Tiagra FC-R4700 crankset, fitted with 50-34T chainrings. The crank length varies depending on frame size: 170mm for XS/S, 172.5mm for M/L and 175mm for XL.

Gear ratios are provided by a Shimano HG500 cassette with a range of 11–34T. Power is transmitted via a Shimano HG54 10-speed chain. The handlebars are made from a Lapierre aluminium alloy and come in different widths depending on the frame size: 400mm for XS/S and 420mm for M/L/XL. The handlebar tape is also from Lapierre and ensures a good grip.

The stem is also made from Lapierre aluminium, features internal cable routing and has a diameter of 31.8 mm. The length of the stem also varies with the frame size: 80 mm for S, 90 mm for M, 100 mm for L and 110 mm for XL. The headset is an Acros AIX-532 IS52/28.6 – IS52/40 system.

The wheels are fitted with Ryde DP19 rims, which measure 622x19 and have 32 spoke holes. The tyres are Continental Ultra Sport 3 SL in size 700x28, which provide a good balance between speed and comfort. The hubs are from Shimano, with an RS470 model at the front and an FHRS470 model at the rear, both with 32 spoke holes.

The setup is rounded off by a Selle Italia X3 Boost saddle, mounted on a Lapierre aluminium seatpost. This has a diameter of 27.2mm and a length of 350mm. The pedals are VP-335 Clips&Strap, which ensure a secure connection between rider and bike. Overall, the Pulsium 3.0 Disc offers a well-balanced package for ambitious beginners or advanced riders who value quality and performance.
