Lapierre Prorace 20

The 2022 Lapierre Prorace 20 is a sturdy and attractively priced mountain bike for young riders. Priced at 399 EUR, it offers a good balance of quality and functionality. The frame is made from Prorace 20" Supreme 4 Alloy and is designed for V-brakes, giving the bike a robust yet lightweight structure. The braking system is fitted with Alhonga V-brakes (HJ-721 ADX), which ensure reliable braking performance.

Gear changes are handled by the Shimano RD-TY300 system with 7 speeds, controlled via the Shimano SLM310R7A shifter. This allows for easy and precise gear selection, which is particularly beneficial for young riders. The SR Suntour M3010 fork, with 40 mm of travel, offers sufficient comfort on uneven terrain.

The bike is fitted with SP-876 pedals and a CH63-2 bottom bracket, whilst the crankset is made from A102P aluminium, with 32 teeth and a length of 127 mm. The sprocket is a Shimano TZ5007428 with a 14–28T ratio, perfectly matched to the YBN 7-speed drivetrain.

The handlebars are Lapierre MtB Alloy 6061, 580 mm wide with a diameter of 31.8 mm, complemented by a 9° backsweep, which allows for a comfortable hand position. The grips are by Velo and offer a good grip. The stem is an MtB Alloy AS-M05 with a 0° angle and a length of 45 mm.

The wheels feature one-piece aluminium rims in size 20x1.75, fitted with Impac (Schwalbe) Ridgepac tyres. The hubs are a KT A15F at the front and a KT A12R at the rear, both threaded.

The saddle is the Lapierre VL-5061 model, mounted on an SP-102 seatpost with a diameter of 27.2 mm and a length of 300 mm, which allows for individual adjustment of the seat height. Overall, the Lapierre Prorace 20 offers a well-balanced package for young mountain bike enthusiasts who value quality and good value for money.
