Lapierre E-Explorer 9.7

The 2022 Lapierre E-Explorer 9.7 is a versatile e-bike that stands out thanks to its combination of robust construction and advanced technology. Priced at 4499 EUR, it offers a wide range of high-quality components, making it an attractive choice for e-bike enthusiasts. The E-Explorer 9.7’s frame is made from a new Overvolt HT Integrated Bosch Supreme 5 alloy and is fitted with a UDH dropout, making it compatible with both a kickstand and mudguards.

The braking system is fitted with Shimano M4100 brakes, featuring four pistons at the front and two at the rear. This ensures reliable braking performance in a variety of conditions. Gear changes are handled by the Shimano Deore RD-M5100 11-speed Shadow+ system, which, together with the Shimano Deore SL-M5100 11-speed shifter, enables precise and smooth gear changes. The RockShox 35 Silver TK Air fork, with 120 mm of travel and e-MtB decals, is Boost-compatible and offers additional control and comfort on uneven terrain.

The bike is fitted with VP VPE-527 pedals, and the crankset consists of a Lapierre Overvolt ISIS with a length of 165 mm for sizes S/M and 170 mm for L/XL, complemented by an FSA Megatooth chainring with 38 teeth. The cassette is a Shimano Deore CS-M5100 with a gear ratio of 11-51T. The drivetrain is completed by a KMC E11 Turbo 11-speed chain. The Lapierre 6061DB aluminium handlebars are 680 mm wide, with a 15 mm rise and a 25° backsweep, whilst the stem has a 17° angle and a length of 90 mm.

Additional comfort is provided by the XLC Ergonomic grips and the Selle Royal Vivo Ergo Reflective saddle, which is mounted on a Lapierre Suspended Dropper seatpost. This seatpost has a diameter of 31.6 mm and a travel of 100 mm for sizes S/M and 120 mm for L/XL, as well as an additional 40 mm of travel controlled via a Shimano lever.

The E-Explorer 9.7’s rims are Lapierre eAM+ 32H, tubeless-ready, and the tyres are Schwalbe Johnny Watts, sized 65-584, DD, Raceguard and a TPI of 67. The hubs are Shimano MT400 Boost Thru Axle with Centre Lock, both front and rear.

The bike is powered by the Bosch Performance Line CX Smart System motor, which provides assistance up to a speed of 25 km/h. The Bosch PowerTube battery, with a capacity of 750 Wh, ensures a long range. Control is via an LED remote display in combination with the KIOX 300, which provides the rider with comprehensive information and control over the electric system. The Lapierre E-Explorer 9.7 is therefore a well-equipped e-bike that is suitable for both everyday use and more demanding tours.
