Lapierre E-Explorer 8.7 Mix

The “E-Explorer 8.7 Mix” model from Lapierre, released in 2022, is a versatile e-bike that, at a price of 4199 EUR, is positioned in the upper mid-range. The bike’s frame is made from New Overvolt HT Mix Integrated Bosch Supreme 5 Alloy, which is fitted with UDH dropouts and is ready for the fitting of a kickstand and mudguards. Braking performance is provided by Shimano MT401 brakes with four pistons at the front and two pistons at the rear, ensuring reliable deceleration.

The gear components consist of a Shimano Deore RD-M4120 10-speed Shadow+ rear derailleur and a Shimano Deore SL-M4100 shifter, which together ensure precise and smooth gear changes. The RockShox 35 Silver TK Coil fork, with 120 mm of travel and Boost standard, offers stable damping and is compatible with mudguards. VP VPE-527 pedals are fitted.

The drivetrain is supported by a Lapierre Overvolt ISIS crankset with a length of 160 mm (for sizes S/M) or 165 mm (for size L) and an FSA Megatooth chainring with 38 teeth. The Shimano Deore CS-M4100 cassette offers a range of 11–46T across ten gears, whilst the KMC e10 Sport chain ensures durable power transmission.

The handlebar setup comprises a Lapierre Alloy 6061DB handlebar with a width of 680 mm, a rise of 15 mm and a backsweep of 25°, complemented by ergonomic grips from XLC. The stem is also by Lapierre and has an angle of 17° and a length of 90 mm. The FSA NO.55R/57E headset ensures reliable steering precision.

The bike is fitted with Schwalbe Johnny Watts tyres in size 65-584, featuring DD, Raceguard and 67 TPI, fitted to both the front and rear. The rims are Lapierre eAM+ models with 32 spokes, tubeless-ready and measuring 584x30C. The hubs are from the Shimano MT400 series with Boost thru-axle and Centre Lock.

The saddle is a Selle Royal Vivo Ergo Reflective Women’s model, which offers comfort even on longer rides, supported by an XLC seatpost with 40 mm of travel. Power is provided by the Bosch Performance Line CX motor, which assists up to a speed of 25 km/h. The Bosch PowerTube battery, with a capacity of 750 Wh, ensures a long range, whilst the LED remote display makes operation straightforward.
