Lapierre E-Explorer 3.4

The 2022 Lapierre E-Explorer 3.4 is a versatile e-bike that stands out for its balanced combination of performance and comfort. Priced at €2,299, this model offers a solid spec that is suitable for both everyday use and leisurely rides. The E-Explorer 3.4’s frame features the Overvolt Explorer Semi-Integrated Bosch, which ensures seamless integration of the drive system.

Braking performance is provided by the reliable Shimano MT200 brakes, whilst gear changes are handled by the Shimano Altus RD-M2000, 9-speed Shadow System. The gear lever is a Shimano Alivio SLM3100 with an optical gear indicator, which also ensures precise gear changes. Front suspension is provided by the SR Suntour NEX E-25 QR9x100 fork with 63 mm of travel, ensuring a comfortable ride on a variety of surfaces.

The bike is fitted with VP VPE-461 pedals and a LAPIERRE OVERVOLT BNI crankset, which is 170 mm long and features a 38T narrow-wide chainring. The cassette is a Shimano HG200 with an 11–36T range, compatible with the drivetrain and the KMC e9 Sport Silver-black chain. The handlebars are made from Lapierre Alloy 6061DB, with a width of 660 mm, a rise of 26 mm and a backsweep of 30°, which enables an ergonomic riding position. The XLC Ergonomic grips further enhance comfort.

The E-Explorer 3.4’s stem has a 17° angle and a length of 90 mm, which contributes to stability and control. The steering system is complemented by the VP-J303PES headset in a black finish. The Ryde ZAC421 rims are robust and, combined with Continental Double Fighter III tyres in size 50-584 (27.5") fitted to both the front and rear, ensure excellent traction.

The front and rear hubs are fitted with Shimano TX505 models, which feature a 9 mm quick-release skewer and Centre Lock. The Selle Royal Lancia saddle offers comfort on longer rides, supported by the Lapierre aluminium seatpost with a diameter of 31.6 mm and a length of 300 mm.

At the heart of the E-Explorer 3.4 is the Bosch Active Line motor, which provides assistance up to a speed of 25 km/h. Power is supplied by the Bosch PowerPack 400, which has a capacity of 400 Wh. Control is via the intuitive Purion display, which clearly shows all the key information. Overall, the E-Explorer 3.4 is a well-equipped e-bike that offers an excellent balance of comfort, performance and reliability for its price range.
