HNF Nicolai SD3 Urban

The “SD3 Urban” model from HNF Nicolai, launched in 2024, is a robust and versatile e-bike designed for urban use. Priced at 3,390 EUR, it offers a balanced blend of functionality and modern technology. The frame is made of aluminium, which gives the bike solid stability and allows for a maximum load capacity of 150 kg. The bike’s own weight is 25 kg.

The SD3 Urban is fitted with Magura MT4 brakes featuring 180 mm discs at both the front and rear, ensuring reliable braking performance. The gear system is an Enviolo CVP TR, operated by an Enviolo CT twist grip, and offers an impressive 99 gears, ensuring optimal adaptation to different riding conditions. The ZOOM CH860 fork with 60 mm of travel contributes to a comfortable ride.

Lighting is provided by the Supernova Mini 2 front light, complemented by the Supernova R-Light E3 Universal rear light, ensuring good visibility in traffic. The VP Components VP-831P pedals and the Miranda Classic bottom bracket, measuring 170 mm in length, form part of the well-designed drivetrain, which is fitted with the Gates CDX system. This includes a Gates CDX 55T crankset with bashguard, a Gates CDX 22T sprocket and a Gates CDX 125T drive belt.

The Satori H-Bar Noir handlebars with Ergon GP10 (GP1) L grips ensure a comfortable riding position, whilst the adjustable Ergotec Swell RE stem offers additional flexibility. The Ryde Taurus rims, combined with Continental Contact Safety tyres, guarantee stability and safety on urban roads.

The bike is also fitted with a Selle Royal Essenza Athletic saddle, mounted on a Satori Trident or Ergotec Atar seatpost. The Hebie Alumee mudguards protect against dirt and spray, whilst the Pletscher Optima Flex kickstand ensures the bike stands securely when parked. The Racktime luggage rack, which can carry up to 15 kg, enhances the bike’s functionality for transporting loads.

The SD3 Urban is powered by a Bosch Gen3 Performance Line motor, which, in combination with a Bosch PowerTube battery with a capacity of 500 Wh and the Bosch Purion display, offers powerful and intuitive assistance whilst riding. The bike’s geometry features a reach of 394 mm, a stack of 608 mm and a seat tube length of 465 mm, enabling a comfortable riding position.
