Haibike Trekking 9

The 2023 ‘Trekking 9’ model from Haibike is a high-quality trekking e-bike designed for versatile use. Priced at 4399 EUR, it offers an impressive range of features and state-of-the-art technology.

The bike’s frame is made of robust aluminium and features an M12 (1.00) x 148 mm thru-axle and a post-mount disc brake. The maximum load capacity is 130 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 26 kg.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano MT410 brakes with 180mm discs and Shimano MT402 brake levers, both made from aluminium. The drivetrain is a Shimano Deore M5100 11-speed system, operated by Shimano Deore M5100 trigger shifters. The SR Suntour Mobie 25 LOR Lockout fork offers 100mm of travel and features an aluminium steerer tube (1 1/8 – 1 1/2'' tapered) and a 15 x 100mm thru-axle.

Lighting is provided by the Haibike Skybeamer 150 front light (50 lux) and the AXA Blueline, with the dynamo powered via the system battery. The pedals are VP E461 aluminium pedals fitted with reflectors.

The drivetrain consists of an aluminium crankset with 40 teeth, a Shimano M5100 cassette with 11–51 teeth, and a KMC X11e chain. The handlebars are the Haibike Components TheBar ++ with a width of 740mm, combined with XLC Comfort bo3 grips. The stem is the Haibike Components TheStem ++, A-Head, bar bore: 31.8mm, 12˚, and the headset is an A-Head Alloy Tapered.

The rims are Rodi Tryp 30, eyelet-style and made of aluminium. The tyres are Continental Contact Cruiser, size 60-584, with reflective strips. The hubs, both front and rear, are Shimano MT400-B models, connected by black Sapim Leader spokes.

The saddle is the Haibike Components TheSaddle and the seatpost is the Haibike Components TheSeatpost ++, Patent, 34.9 mm, also made of aluminium. The bike is fitted with SKS Chromoplastik mudguards and features an adjustable Ursus Mooi kickstand as well as a StandWell KM040 luggage rack.

At the heart of the e-bike is the Bosch Performance CX GEN4 motor, delivering 250W of power and 85Nm of torque, which assists speeds of up to 25 km/h. The battery is a Bosch PowerTube with a capacity of 625 Wh and is charged using a Bosch Standard Charger 4A. The display is a Bosch Intuvia, which allows for simple and intuitive operation.
