Haibike Trekking 5

The 2023 Trekking 5 from Haibike is a versatile e-bike that is ideal for long trekking tours and everyday use. It is available at a price of 3099 EUR and offers a wide range of high-quality components and technical refinements.

The Trekking 5’s frame is made from 6061 aluminium and features an X-12 (1.00) x 148 mm thru-axle and a post-mount disc brake. The maximum load capacity is 130 kg, ensuring high load-bearing capacity and stability.

For the brakes, Haibike has opted for aluminium Alhonga HT472 calipers with 180mm discs. The brake levers are also from Alhonga and provide reliable braking power in all weather conditions. The drivetrain is a Shimano Alivio M3100 9-speed system, operated via trigger shifters, which enables precise and rapid gear changes.

The SR Suntour XCM ATB HLO fork with a steel spring offers 65mm of travel and ensures comfortable damping on uneven terrain. The steel steerer tube is tapered (1 1/8" – 1 1/2" tapered) and the fork is fitted with a 15 x 110 mm Boost thru-axle.

Lighting is provided by the Trelock Bike – i Veo LS230 front light with 20 lux and the AXA Juno Ebike rear light. The dynamo is powered by the system battery, ensuring a constant power supply.

The pedals are VP E461 aluminium models fitted with reflectors, which contribute to added safety on the road. The sprocket is a Shimano HG200 with 11–36 teeth, and the drivetrain uses a KMC e9S chain.

The handlebars are XLC Topflat with a width of 720mm; the grips are XLC Comfort bo3, ensuring comfortable handling. The stem and seatpost are also by XLC and made of aluminium; the headset is A-Head Tapered.

The rims are Schürmann Yak25, eyelet-style and made of aluminium, which makes them particularly robust. The tyres are WTB Groov-E, size 61-584, with reflective strips for better visibility. The hubs are Haibike TheHub ++ at both the front and rear, and the spokes are Sapim Leader in black.

The saddle is a Selle Royal Wave, which ensures a high level of comfort. The mudguards are Eurofender Tempo made from chrome-plastic; the kickstand is adjustable and made by Ursus Mooi. The luggage rack is a Massload system rack with the MIK system.

The Trekking 5 is powered by a Bosch Performance Line motor with 250W power, 65Nm torque and assistance up to 25km/h. The battery is a Bosch PowerTube, the display is a Bosch Purion and the charger is a Bosch Compact Charger 2A.
