Green’s Somerset

The “Somerset” model from the “Green’s” brand, launched in 2020, is a versatile and robust bicycle that, at a price of 949 EUR, is positioned in the mid-range segment. The frame is made of aluminium, giving the bike a solid yet lightweight structure, with a total weight of 20 kg. The Somerset’s specifications offer a well-thought-out combination of comfort and functionality. The Magura HS11 hydraulic rim brakes, together with the coaster brake, provide reliable and safe braking performance. Gear changes are handled by the Nexus 8-speed hub gear system, which is operated via a Nexus twist grip and allows for smooth shifting.

The suspension fork provides additional comfort by effectively absorbing bumps in the road. The Somerset is well equipped with lighting: the AXA Blueline front light with a 30 lux LED ensures sufficient visibility in the dark, whilst the rear light ensures visibility from behind. Both lights are powered by a hub dynamo, which ensures a constant power supply without the need to change batteries. The 38-tooth crankset complements the drivetrain perfectly.

The adjustable stem allows for individual adjustment of the handlebar height, further enhancing riding comfort. The hollow-section aluminium rims are eyeleted and, together with the stainless steel spokes and the 28-inch wheels, offer stability and durability. The Continental Contact Pl tyres, size 47-622, contribute to a safe riding experience. Other practical features include the fixed seatpost, plastic mudguards, a sturdy rear stand and a luggage rack with the MIK system, which allows for easy attachment of luggage. Overall, the Green’s Somerset is a well-designed and well-equipped bike that is suitable for both everyday use and longer rides.
