Green’s Chester

The “Chester” model from Green’s, launched in 2020, is a sturdy bike that offers well-thought-out features for a price of 799 EUR. The frame is made of aluminium, which reduces the bike’s total weight to 14 kg, ensuring a good balance between stability and lightness. The hydraulic disc brakes on the front and rear wheels provide reliable braking performance in a variety of conditions.

The Chester is fitted with a Nexus 8-speed gear system, operated via a Nexus twist grip, which allows for simple and efficient gear selection. The rigid fork contributes to the bike’s robustness and is ideal for use on urban roads. A Spanninga front light provides illumination, whilst the rear light ensures visibility in the dark. Both lights are powered by a hub dynamo, which guarantees a constant power supply without the need to change batteries.

The 42-tooth crankset complements the drivetrain, whilst the fixed stem ensures stable steering. The aluminium hollow-section rims and black spokes are fitted to a 28-inch wheelset and equipped with Schwalbe Kojak tyres in size 35-622, which ensure a smooth ride. The seat post is also made of aluminium, which further reduces the bike’s weight.

Although the Chester does not have a kickstand, the mudguards are made of steel, offering additional protection against splashes. Overall, the Green’s Chester is a well-equipped bike that is particularly well-suited to urban use and impresses with its well-thought-out features and attractive price.
