GIANT Trance 2

The 2023 GIANT Trance 2 is a versatile mountain bike designed for challenging trails and technical descents. This model is priced at 2899 EUR. The frame is made from AluxX SL aluminium and features a Maestro rear triangle with flip-chip geometry, as well as a carbon rocker arm offering 120 mm of travel. The bike is fitted with an SRAM UDH derailleur hanger and accommodates tyres up to 2.6" wide. The maximum chainring size is 34T.

Braking performance is provided by Tektro Orion HD-M745 disc brakes with 4-piston calipers and 180 mm rotors, operated by Tektro Orion HD-M745 brake levers. Gear changes are handled by the Shimano Deore M6100 Shadow+ system with 12 speeds, controlled by the Shimano Deore M6100 shifter. The Marzocchi Z2 fork with RAIL damping and 130 mm of travel, together with the specially tuned FOX Float DPS Performance shock, ensure excellent handling on uneven terrain.

The Trance 2 is supplied without pedals; the bottom bracket is a Praxis Pressfit model. The crankset consists of the Praxis Cadet M24 with a 30T chainring and a chainline of 55 mm. The cassette is a Shimano Deore M6100 with a 10–51T range, and the drive chain is a KMC X-12.

The handlebars are GIANT Contact TR35 with a 20 mm rise and a width of 780 mm, combined with GIANT Tactal Pro Single Lock-On grips. The stem is a GIANT Contact SL 35 with a length of 40 mm. The rims are GIANT AM 29, tubeless-ready, with an internal width of 30 mm. The tyres are Maxxis Minion DHF 29x2.5WT at the front and Maxxis Aggressor 29x2.5WT at the rear, both featuring EXO protection and tubeless-ready. The bike is supplied tubeless and includes a tubeless kit containing fluid, valves, tyre levers, a valve core remover and instructions.

The hubs are RD02F at the front and ED260-R at the rear, connected by Sapim spokes. The saddle is a GIANT Romero model, mounted on a GIANT Contact Switch Vario seatpost with a diameter of 30.9 mm and a variable length depending on frame size (S: 125 mm, M: 150 mm, L: 170 mm, XL: 200 mm).

The frame geometry offers a reach of 422 mm, a stack of 610 mm and a seat tube length of 420 mm. The top tube measures 561 mm in length, the head tube angle is 65 degrees and the seat tube angle is 77 degrees. The head tube is 100 mm long, the chainstays measure 439 mm and the bottom bracket drop is 45 mm. The fork offset is specified as 44 mm, the top tube height is 730 mm and the crank length is 165 mm. The bike’s wheelbase measures 1166 mm in total.
