GIANT Trance 1

The "Trance 1" model from GIANT, released in 2023, is a versatile and high-performance mountain bike designed for challenging trails and technical descents. The price for this model is 3399 EUR.

The Trance 1’s frame is made from AluxX SL aluminium and features a Maestro rear triangle with flip-chip geometry and a carbon rocker arm. The rear triangle offers 120 mm of travel and is fitted with an SRAM UDH derailleur hanger. The maximum tyre clearance is 2.6 inches and the maximum chainring size is 34T.

The braking system consists of Shimano BR-MT520 4-piston brakes with 180 mm rotors, controlled by Shimano BL-MT501 brake levers. Gear shifting is handled by a Shimano SLX M7100 Shadow+ 12-speed rear derailleur, operated via Shimano SLX M7100 shift levers.

Front suspension is provided by a FOX 34 Float Performance fork with GRIP damping and 130 mm of travel, whilst the rear shock is a FOX Float DPS Performance, which has been specially tuned and is fitted in the 185x50 mm size with a TrunnionMount. The bottom bracket is a Shimano PressFit, and the crankset consists of a Shimano SLX M7120 with a 30T chainring and a 55 mm chainline. The cassette is a Shimano SLX M7100 with a 10–51T range, and the drivetrain uses a KMC X-12 chain.

The handlebars are GIANT Contact TR35 with a 20 mm rise and a width of 780 mm, complemented by GIANT Tactal Pro Single Lock-On grips. The stem is a GIANT Contact SL 35 with a length of 40 mm. The rims are GIANT AM 29, tubeless-ready with an internal width of 30 mm, fitted with Maxxis Minion DHF 29x2.5WT tyres at the front and Maxxis Aggressor 29x2.5WT tyres at the rear, both supplied tubeless. The hubs are models RD02F and ED260-R, connected by Sapim spokes.

The saddle is a GIANT Romero, mounted on a GIANT Contact Switch Vario seatpost with a diameter of 30.9 mm, the drop of which varies depending on frame size (S: 125 mm, M: 150 mm, L: 170 mm, XL: 200 mm). Additional equipment includes a tubeless kit containing fluid, valves, tyre levers, a valve core remover and instructions.

The Trance 1’s geometry features a reach of 447 mm, a stack of 619 mm, a seat tube length of 430 mm and a top tube length of 599 mm. The head tube angle is 66 degrees, the seat tube angle 76 degrees, the head tube length 110 mm and the chainstay length 439 mm. The bottom bracket drop is 45 mm, the fork offset is 44 mm and the standover height is 725 mm. The crank length is 170 mm and the wheelbase totals 1195 mm.

The Trance 1 thus offers a balanced blend of stability and agility, enabling riders to master both technical climbs and challenging descents with confidence.
