GIANT Stormguard E+ 2

The “Stormguard E+ 2” model from GIANT, released in 2023, is a high-quality e-bike that stands out for its technical specifications and extensive range of features. The price for this model is 6499 EUR.

The Stormguard E+ 2’s frame consists of an AluxX SL main frame with a StableLink rear triangle and an integrated speed sensor. The frame is also EnergyPak Plus-compatible and offers 100 mm of suspension travel. Front suspension is provided by an SR Suntour XCR 34 Air LO-R fork, also with 100 mm of travel and Boost 15x110 mm, whilst the FOX Float DPS shock (165x38mm, trunnion mount, custom-tuned) ensures optimum rear damping.

The braking system consists of Shimano Deore BR-MT420 (4-piston) brakes with 203 mm discs and Shimano Deore BL-MT401 brake levers, which ensure reliable and powerful braking. Gear changes are controlled via a Shimano Nexus Inter-5E twist shifter. The drivetrain is powered by a Gates CDX Carbon belt, utilising a Praxis e-Cadet crankset with a Gates CDX 42T sprocket and a Gates 32T sprocket.

For lighting, the bike is fitted with a Supernova M99 Mini Pro front light, which offers a brightness of 260 lux, and a Supernova E3 rear light. The pedals are made of aluminium and provide a stable platform.

The handlebars are GIANT Contour Comfort Riser with a diameter of 31.8 mm and a rise of 35 mm, whilst the GIANT Connect Ergo Max Plus grips provide additional comfort. The stem is a GIANT Contour with a 16° angle and an integrated RideDash EVO display.

The rims are GIANT AM 27.5, tubeless-ready, with an internal width of 30 mm, and are fitted with Maxxis Rekon 27.5 x 2.6" tyres, which are also tubeless-ready and feature EXO protection. The hubs are Shimano MT410 at the front and Shimano Nexus Inter-5E at the rear, complemented by Sapim Race and Sapim Strong spokes.

The saddle is a Selle Royal Vivo Ergo GTS, mounted on a GIANT Contact Switch Vario seatpost (30.9 mm), which offers different adjustment ranges depending on frame size (S: 100 mm, M: 125 mm, L: 150 mm, XL: 170 mm). A GIANT KSA18 kickstand ensures the bike stands securely, whilst an ABUS Xplus battery-powered lock provides security.

The luggage rack is a Floating MIK system, offering versatile transport options. In addition, a tubeless kit (fluid, valves, tyre levers, valve core remover, instructions) is included in the scope of delivery.

The Stormguard E+ 2 is powered by a GIANT SyncDrive Pro2 motor with 85 Nm of torque, powered by Yamaha. The battery is a GIANT EnergyPak Smart Integrated 800 with a capacity of 800 Wh and is compatible with the EP Plus RangeExtender. The charger is a GIANT EnergyPak SmartCharger with an output of 6A. The display is the GIANT RideDash Evo, which clearly shows all the key information.
