GIANT Reign 2

The "Reign 2" model from GIANT, released in 2023, is a versatile and robust mountain bike designed for challenging trails and descents. Priced at 3599 EUR, it offers high-quality components and solid technical specifications geared towards performance and reliability.

The Reign 2’s frame consists of an AluxX SL frame with a Maestro rear triangle and geometry that can be adjusted via a flip-chip. A carbon derailleur hanger and an integrated frame storage compartment complete the well-thought-out design. The frame offers 160 mm of travel and is designed for tyres with a maximum width of 2.5". The derailleur hanger is an SRAM UDH, ensuring high compatibility and easy maintenance. The maximum chainring size is 36T.

For the brakes, GIANT has opted for the Shimano BR-MT520 (4-piston) with 220 mm front and 203 mm rear brake discs, which deliver outstanding braking performance. The bottom bracket is a Shimano PressFit, whilst the crankset consists of a Praxis Cadet HD M24 with a 32T chainring and a 55mm chainline. The cassette is a Shimano Deore M6100 with a 10–51T range.

The drivetrain is entirely comprised of Shimano components, which ensures high reliability and durability. The handlebars are GIANT Contact TR35 with a 20 mm rise, complemented by GIANT Tactal Pro Single Lock-On grips and a GIANT Contact SL 35 stem. The rims are GIANT AM 29, tubeless-ready with an internal width of 30 mm, fitted with Maxxis Assegai 29x2.5WT and Maxxis Minion DHR II 29x2.4WT tyres, which are supplied tubeless. The hubs are RD02F / ED260-R models and the spokes are from Sapim.

The saddle is a GIANT Romero model, mounted on a GIANT Contact Switch Vario seatpost with different adjustment heights depending on frame size (S: 125 mm, M: 150 mm, L: 170 mm, XL: 200 mm). Additional features include an MRP AMG chain guide and a tubeless kit (fluid, valves, tyre levers, valve core remover, instructions), which makes switching to a tubeless setup easier.
