GIANT Explore E+ Pro 45

The "Explore E+ Pro 45" model from GIANT, released in 2023, is a high-quality e-bike priced at 5099 EUR. The frame is made from robust AluxX material and features an integrated speed sensor. It is also EnergyPak Plus-compatible, though only in the GTS version. The rear axle is 12x142 mm.

The bike’s braking system consists of Magura CMe5 (4-piston) brakes with 180 mm discs, controlled by Magura CMe5 brake levers. Gear changes are handled by an 11-speed Shimano Deore M5120 Shadow+ system, complemented by a Shimano Deore M5100 shifter and front derailleur. The fork is an SR Suntour Mobie 45 LO with 63 mm of travel and a 15x100 mm axle.

The lighting system comprises a B&M IQ-X-E front light with 150 lux, as well as a horn (NO.660) and a Supernova M99 Tail Light rear light (ECE50). The pedals are made of aluminium. The crankset is made of forged alloy with 48-36T chainrings, whilst the cassette is a Shimano Deore CS-M5100 with 11-42T. The drivetrain is supported by a KMC e.11 Sport chain, which is specially optimised for e-bikes.

The handlebars are GIANT Connect XC Riser with a diameter of 31.8 mm and a rise of 19 mm. The grips are GIANT Contact Ergo Max Plus; the stem is a GIANT Contact with a length of 60 mm and a handlebar width of 420 mm. The rims are GIANT eX2, tubeless-ready with an internal width of 21 mm, fitted with Schwalbe Energizer Plus Tour Performance tyres in size 700x50c (622x50), which are supplied with inner tubes as standard.

The hubs are GIANT eTracker, and the spokes are Sapim Race and Sapim E-Lite. The saddle is a Selle Royal Vivo Ergo Moderate unisex model, supported by a GIANT seatpost with a diameter of 30.9 mm. A GIANT KSA18 kickstand and a MIK luggage rack are also fitted.

The e-bike’s motor is the GIANT SyncDrive Pro 45, powered by Yamaha and delivering 80 Nm of torque. The battery is a GIANT EnergyPak Smart Integrated with a capacity of 625 Wh and is compatible with the EP Plus RangeExtender. The display is a GIANT RideDash Evo and the charger is a GIANT EnergyPak SmartCharger with an output of 6A.

The bike’s geometry comprises the following measurements: reach 381 mm, stack 570 mm, seat tube length 450 mm, top tube length 550 mm, head tube angle 71 degrees, seat tube angle 74 degrees, head tube length 135 mm, chainstay length 425 mm, bottom bracket drop 80 mm, fork offset 50 mm, top tube height 740 mm, crank length 170 mm and the wheelbase measures a total of 1020 mm.
