GIANT Explore E+ 3

The “Explore E+ 3” model from GIANT, released in 2023, is a versatile e-bike available at a price of 2,899 EUR. The bike’s frame is an AluxX frame with a 135mm QR axle, ensuring a robust and durable construction.

Braking performance is provided by Tektro HD-M275 hydraulic disc brakes, fitted with 180mm front and 160mm rear rotors. The brake levers are also from Tektro and offer precise control. The gear system consists of a Shimano Alivio M3100 9-speed groupset, operated via Shimano Altus M2010 shifters, enabling reliable and smooth gear changes.

Front suspension is provided by an SR Suntour NEX E25 DS fork with 63mm of travel and QR quick-release skewers, which ensures additional comfort on uneven terrain. Lighting is provided by an Axa BlueLine Steady E6 front light with a brightness of 30 lux, ensuring good visibility even in low-light conditions.

The bike is fitted with aluminium platform pedals and features a forged alloy crankset with a 42T chainring. The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG200 model with a gear ratio of 11–36T. Power is transmitted via a KMC e.9 Sport chain, which is specially optimised for e-bikes.

The handlebars are GIANT Connect Riser 31.8 with a 19mm rise, complemented by GIANT Contact Ergo grips and an angle-adjustable GIANT Contact stem, enabling an ergonomic and customisable riding position. The rims are GIANT eX2 Tubeless Ready with an internal width of 21mm, and the tyres are GIANT Crosscut Gravel 2 in size 700x45c (622x45), also Tubeless Ready and supplied with an inner tube as standard.

The hubs are GIANT eTracker models, and the spokes are made of stainless steel, which contributes to the bike’s durability and stability. The saddle is a Selle Royal Vivo Ergo Moderate, mounted on a GIANT 30.9mm seatpost. A GIANT KSA18 kickstand ensures the bike stands securely, and the MIK luggage rack offers practical transport options.

Power is provided by a GIANT SyncDrive Sport motor with 70Nm of torque, developed by Yamaha. Power is supplied by a GIANT EnergyPak SideRelease battery with a capacity of 500 Wh, which is charged using the GIANT EnergyPak FastCharger, a 4A charger.
