Focus PARALANE² 9.6 GC

The 2020 "PARALANE² 9.6 GC" model from Focus is a versatile e-road bike that stands out for its high-quality components and innovative technology. Priced at 5,399 EUR, this bike offers a combination of performance and comfort. The frame is made from F.I.T Carbon and is specifically designed for e-road cycling. It features a disc brake with a Road Boost 148x12 mm thru-axle and RAT Evo technology, which ensures quick and easy wheel fitting. The internal cable routing contributes to a clean, tidy appearance.

The bike’s total weight is 14 kg, making it a comparatively lightweight model despite the integrated electric motor. Power is provided by the FAZUA evation motor with 60 Nm of torque and an output of 250 W, combined with a 250 Wh battery. This drive system offers maximum assistance, making it ideal for longer rides. It is controlled via the FAZUA evation 2.0 remote display.

The brakes are fitted with the Shimano GRX 810 series, whilst the front derailleur is also from the Shimano GRX 800 series. The fork is made of carbon and is fitted with a disc brake that also utilises RAT Evo technology. The pedals are MTB models with reflectors, which provide additional safety.

The crankset is made of aluminium and is the FSA CK-746, whilst the cassette is a Shimano Ultegra R8000. The drivetrain is complemented by the Shimano CN-HG701 chain. The handlebars are aluminium BBB Basic with a 125 mm drop and a 70 mm reach, which allows for a comfortable riding position. The grips are fitted with Focus Bartape SL.

The stem is a BBB Rider BHS-109 with a diameter of 31.8 mm and an angle of 7 degrees. The tyres are Vittoria Terreno Zero TLR, measuring 700 x 33C; they are foldable and offer good grip on various surfaces. The wheelset consists of 28" Alex Rims Boondocks with Disc Centre-Lock and an aluminium construction.

The saddle is a Prologo Scratch model, which ensures comfort on long rides, whilst the seatpost is a carbon BBB FlyPost SP-131. Curana C-Lite mudguards are also fitted, providing protection against splashes. Overall, the “PARALANE² 9.6 GC” is a well-designed e-road bike that is suitable for both sporty rides and longer tours.
