Diamant 247 Deluxe (Einstieg: hoch)

The "247 Deluxe (high step-through)" model from Diamant, released in 2023, is a well-equipped bicycle available at a price of 1,799 EUR. The frame is made from Alpha Smooth aluminium with internal cable routing and is compatible with a belt drive. It features a post-mount disc brake mount, which ensures easy integration of disc brakes. The bicycle’s maximum load capacity is 136 kg, whilst its kerb weight is 14 kg, making it a lightweight yet robust model.

The braking system is fitted with Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes at both the front and rear. The brake discs have a diameter of 160 mm and are fitted with a Centre Lock mount. The gear lever is a Shimano Alfine with 11 speeds, offering precise and reliable gear changes. The fork is made of aluminium (AL6061-T6) and is rigid, with straight legs and a 450 mm axle-to-crown distance. It is suitable for disc brakes and features low-rider mounts as well as dynamo cable openings.

Lighting is provided at the front by the Herrmans H-Black MR8 LED light with a parking light function, whilst at the rear the Herrmans H-Trace LED rear light, also with a parking light, is fitted. The pedals are made of non-slip aluminium and fitted with reflectors. The drivetrain consists of the Gates CDN CenterTrac system, comprising a Gates CDN S150 crankset with 46 teeth and a crank arm length of 170 mm, as well as a Gates CDC CenterTrack sprocket with 24 teeth.

The handlebars are aluminium low-risers with a width of 690 mm, a rise of 25 mm and a bend of 11 degrees. The grips are Bontrager Satellite Elite with aluminium clamps, whilst the stem is a Bontrager Comp, Blendr-compatible and 80 mm long. The headset is made of steel and is threadless. The tyres are Bontrager H2 with reflective strips in size 40-622, fitted to Bontrager Connection hollow-section rims.

The saddle is a Brooks C17 Cambium Bold, fitted to a Bontrager aluminium seatpost with a 12 mm offset and a length of 330 mm. Plastic mudguards from SKS provide protection against splash water, and a Pletscher Comp Flex 18 kickstand ensures stability when parked. The lightweight aluminium luggage rack is MIK-compatible and can carry up to 25 kg.

With packaging dimensions of 23 mm wide, 118 mm high and 201 mm long, as well as further geometric data such as a reach of 38 mm and a stack of 62 mm, this model offers a well-thought-out design for a comfortable ride. The seat tube length is 45 mm, the top tube length is 55 mm, the head tube angle is 70 degrees, whilst the seat tube angle is 73 degrees. The head tube length is 14 mm, the chainstay length is 47 mm, the standover height is 78 mm and the wheelbase measures 110 mm. This bike therefore offers a well-balanced geometry for a comfortable riding position.
