Cube Kathmandu Pro blue´n´red

The 2021 “Kathmandu Pro blue’n’red” from Cube is a versatile trekking bike suitable for a range of uses. Priced at 1049 EUR, it offers good value for money. The frame is made from Superlite Trekking Comfort IC 2.0 double-butted aluminium, which makes the bike not only robust but also lightweight. The bike’s total weight is 15 kg.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano hydraulic disc brakes (BR-MT200) with 160 mm discs at the front and rear, which deliver reliable stopping power in a variety of conditions. The rear derailleur is a Shimano XT RD-T8000 with 10 speeds, which can be shifted precisely and quickly using the Shimano Deore SL-M6000 Rapidfire-Plus shift lever. The front derailleur is a Shimano Deore FD-T6000, Top-Swing, with a 31.8 mm clamp.

The SR Suntour NCX D LO Air fork, with 63 mm of travel and a lockout function, provides additional comfort on uneven roads. For lighting, a CUBE Shiny 50 front light and a CUBE Nano Steady rear light are fitted, ensuring good visibility even in poor lighting conditions.

The bike is fitted with ACID PP trekking pedals and features a Shimano FC-T551 crankset with Hollowtech II technology and a 48x36x26T gear combination. The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG500 with a 11-34T range. The drivetrain is completed by a KMC X10 chain.

The handlebars are CUBE Comfort Trail Bars with a width of 660 mm, combined with Natural Fit Comfort grips and a CUBE Performance Stem Pro with a diameter of 31.8 mm. The headset is a semi-integrated CUBE H863.

The rims are CUBE ZX20, 32H, disc, and the tyres are Schwalbe Range Cruiser, Active, in size 47-622. The front hub is a Shimano DH-3D37 with a hub dynamo, quick-release and Centre Lock mount, whilst the rear hub is a Shimano FH-TX505 with a quick-release and Centre Lock mount.

The saddle is a Natural Fit Sequence Comfort model, mounted on a CUBE Performance seatpost with a diameter of 27.2 mm. The saddle is clamped in place using a CUBE Screwlock with a diameter of 31.8 mm.

Additional features include ACID 53 mudguards, an adjustable CUBEstand Pro kickstand and a CUBE Integrated Carrier 2.0 luggage rack, which is compatible with both CUBE adapters and SnapIt.
