Conway MC 240 rigid

The "MC 240 rigid" model from Conway, released in 2023, is a sturdy and versatile bicycle which, at a price of 429 EUR, represents an attractive option for young cyclists. The bike’s frame is made of aluminium in a diamond shape, measuring 28 cm, and is designed to support a maximum load of 60 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs just 11 kg.

The braking system is fitted with SACCON “V-Brake” brakes, operated by TEKTRO brake levers, which provide reliable stopping power at both the front and rear. The 8-speed gear system is supported by SHIMANO ‘Altus’ components, including the SHIMANO ‘Altus SL-M310’ gear lever, which enables precise and easy gear changes.

An aluminium unicrown fork has been chosen, ensuring stability and comfort. The bike’s lighting comprises an AXA “Ecoline 15” LED front light with a brightness of 15 lux and a SPANNINGA “Pixeo” rear light, both powered by a SHIMANO “DHC3000” QR hub dynamo.

The bike is fitted with MARWI “SP-400” pedals and a THUN bottom bracket. The crankset is made of aluminium with 32 teeth and a length of 140 mm, whilst the cassette is a SHIMANO “HG31” with 11–34 teeth. Power is transmitted via a KMC “Z51” chain.

The handlebars measure 540 mm and are specially designed for young people, whilst the grips are CONWAY “Junior” models. The stem is a ONE Sport A-Head model and the headset has EC34 / EC34 dimensions. The rims are CONWAY hollow-section “J 19” and the tyres are SCHWALBE “Big Apple”, both in size 50-507 with reflective strips for increased visibility.

The front hub is a SHIMANO “DHC3000” QR dynamo hub and the rear hub is a KT aluminium hub with a quick-release (QR). The spokes are made of black steel. The saddle is a CONWAY “Junior” model, mounted on a ONE Sport seatpost with a diameter of 27.2 mm.

The specification is rounded off by plastic mudguards and an aluminium kickstand, which make the bike both functional and practical. The “MC 240 rigid” thus offers a balanced mix of quality, performance and value for money for young cyclists.
