Conway GRV 500 C

Conway’s “GRV 500 C” model from 2021 is a versatile gravel bike which, at a price of 1,699 EUR, offers an attractive option for cyclists who want to ride on both roads and unpaved trails. The frame is made from lightweight aluminium, known as “CONWAY Gravel, Alu Light”, and, together with the carbon fork, provides a balanced combination of stability and comfort. The maximum load capacity is 130 kg, which offers ample scope for both rider and luggage.

The GRV 500 C’s braking system is fitted with SHIMANO “Tiagra BR-4770” disc brakes, complemented by SHIMANO “Tiagra ST-4720” brake levers. SHIMANO “SM-RT64” brake discs with a diameter of 160 mm are fitted at both the front and rear, ensuring reliable braking performance. For the gear system, Conway relies on the SHIMANO “Tiagra” series, consisting of the “Tiagra RD-4700” rear derailleur and the “Tiagra FD-4700” front derailleur, which, together with the “Tiagra ST-4720” shift levers, enable precise 20-speed shifting.

The drivetrain is completed by the SHIMANO “FC-RS400” crankset with 34/50 teeth and the SHIMANO “HG500” cassette with 11–34 teeth. The wheelsets consist of RODI “Ready GR” rims, fitted with CONTINENTAL “Speed Ride” tyres in size 700 x 42, which are renowned for their durability and smooth rolling characteristics. The front hub is a SHIMANO “DH-UR705” hub dynamo, whilst the rear hub is the SHIMANO “FH-RS470” model.

The bike’s cockpit comprises the EASTON “EA50 AX” handlebars and the EASTON “EA50” stem, whilst the grips are CONWAY “Ultra 2K”. The saddle, a CONWAY “1489 sport light”, is mounted on an EASTON “EA50” seatpost with a diameter of 27.2 mm. For added functionality, SKS plastic mudguards and an SKS “Infinity GT7” luggage rack are fitted.

Lighting is provided by the CONTEC “LED Aurora 100 E+ 40” front light and the HERRMANS “H-Trace Batt.” LED rear light, with power for the front light supplied by the SHIMANO hub dynamo. Overall, the GRV 500 C offers a well-thought-out specification that is suitable for both everyday use and longer tours.
