Cannondale Treadwell Neo 2

The "Treadwell Neo 2" model from Cannondale, released in 2024, is a modern e-bike designed for urban use and is available at a price of 1,799 EUR. The bike’s frame is made from SmartForm C3 Alloy and features a low step-through height and Ride-Easy geometry, ensuring a comfortable riding position. The internal battery in the down tube and the concealed cable routing give the bike a clean and elegant appearance. Urban Armor frame bumpers provide additional protection, and the flat-mounted disc brakes ensure reliable braking performance.

The bike is fitted with Tektro mechanical disc brakes with 160 mm rotors at the front and rear, operated by Tektro brake levers. Gear changes are handled by a microSHIFT M26S system with a 7-speed shifter, enabling simple and precise gear selection. The chromoly fork, featuring a 1-1/8" head tube, OutFront offset and centre-mounted fork legs, contributes to stability and control.

For road safety, the Treadwell Neo 2 is fitted with a Herrmans H-Trace rear light. The Cannondale Comfort pedals and the Cannondale Treadwell saddle with steel struts offer additional comfort on longer rides. The drivetrain is supported by a Hyena torque sensor in the bottom bracket, whilst the Samox crankset with a 38T chainring and the Sunrace cassette (11-34, 7-speed) ensure efficient power transfer.

The bike’s handlebars are Cannondale Cruise Control Risers made from 6061 aluminium, with a width of 740 mm and a 15-degree back-sweep angle, promoting a relaxed and ergonomic hand position. The stem is a Cannondale 3 with Intellimount functionality, also made of aluminium, and provides a secure mount for the handlebar-mounted Hyena HMI display, which can be used in conjunction with a smartphone app.

The rims are double-walled Cannondale disc rims with eyelets and 32 spoke holes, whilst the Maxxis DTR-1 tyres in size 650b x 47c ensure good grip and comfort. The hubs consist of a sealed aluminium disc hub at the front and a Hyena MRC-250 250W rear hub. The spokes are made of stainless steel with a gauge of 13g.

The bike features a Cannondale seatpost made from 6061 aluminium, measuring 31.6 x 400 mm, and is fitted with a practical kickstand. Power is provided by a Hyena MRC-250 250W rear-wheel motor, which is powered by an internal Hyena battery with a capacity of 250 Wh. The charger has an output of 2A.

With a gross weight of 53 kg, the Treadwell Neo 2 offers a balanced combination of stability and agility. The frame geometry comprises a reach of 390 mm, a stack of 610 mm, a seat tube length of 513 mm, a top tube length of 600 mm, a head tube angle of 71 degrees, a seat tube angle also of 71 degrees, a head tube length of 196 mm, a chainstay length of 460 mm, a fork offset of 55 mm, a top tube height of 747 mm and a wheelbase of 1092 mm. These dimensions contribute to the bike’s comfortable and stable ride.
