Cannondale Treadwell EQ DLX

The 2024 Cannondale Treadwell EQ DLX model is a versatile and comfortable bike designed for urban use. It is available at a price of EUR 1199 and offers a wide range of technical features that are ideal for both everyday use and longer journeys.

The frame of the Treadwell EQ DLX is made of SmartForm C3 Alloy and has a Ride-Easy low-standover geometry that makes it easy to get on and off. The Straightshot hidden cable routing ensures a clean look, while Urban Armor frame bumpers protect the frame from damage. The frame is also equipped with flat disc brake mounts and mounts for pannier racks and mudguards.

Braking power is provided by Tektro hydraulic disc brakes (HD-R280) with 160 mm rotors at the front and 140 mm rotors at the rear. The brake levers are also from Tektro and offer reliable and precise brake control. The drivetrain consists of microSHIFT Advent components with a 9-speed system controlled by the microSHIFT Advent shifter. The drivetrain is completed by a KMC X9 chain.

The fork is also made from SmartForm C3 Alloy and has a 1-1/8" steerer and an OutFront offset. It is equipped with flat disc brake mounts and central mounting points. Lighting is provided by Spanninga front and rear lights, which ensure sufficient visibility in poor light conditions.

The Prowheel crankset has a 38-tooth chainring, while the microSHIFT sprocket with an 11-42 gradation ensures a wide gear range. The handlebars, a Cannondale Cruise Control riser made from 6061 Alloy, are 740 mm wide and have a 15-degree backsweep, which enables a relaxed and ergonomic riding position. The grips are also from Cannondale and offer additional comfort.

The stem is a Cannondale 3 with Intellimount, made of aluminium with a diameter of 31.8 mm and an angle of 6 degrees. The headset is semi-integrated and has a diameter of 1-1/8". The rims are double-walled and have eyelets, while the tyres are Maxxis DTR-1 in size 650b x 47c and are fitted both front and rear.

The hubs consist of a Shimano Dynamo DH-3D37 at the front and a sealed Alloy Disc hub at the rear, which is equipped with a 5 mm Hex Security quick release. The spokes are made of stainless steel (14g). The saddle is a Cannondale Treadwell with steel rails and a width of 170 mm, while the seat post is made of aluminium and measures 31.6 x 350 mm.

Additional equipment includes aluminium mudguards and front and rear pannier racks to make it easier to transport items. The gross weight of the bike is 36000 g. The geometry of the frame offers a reach of 390 mm, a stack of 610 mm, a seat tube length of 513 mm and a top tube length of 600 mm. The head tube angle is 71 degrees, as is the seat tube angle. The head tube length measures 196 mm, the chainstay length is 460 mm, the fork pre-bend is 55 mm and the standover height is 747 mm. The wheelbase of the bike measures a total of 1097 mm.
