Cannondale Topstone Neo SL 2

The 2024 "Topstone Neo SL 2" model from Cannondale is a versatile e-bike that stands out for its robust construction and high-quality components. The frame is made from SmartForm C2 Alloy and, with its 135mm bolt-on, a tapered headtube and a flat-mount disc mount, provides a solid foundation. The frame also features several mounts for luggage racks and bottle cages, making it particularly suitable for longer rides.

The bike’s braking system consists of Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm RT56 rotors, ensuring reliable and powerful braking performance. The drivetrain is also from the Shimano GRX 400 series and, with a Shadow RD+ rear derailleur, a braze-on front derailleur and a 2x10 shifter, offers precise and smooth gear changes. In total, the rider has 20 gears at their disposal, allowing for flexible adaptation to different types of terrain.

The Topstone Neo SL 2’s fork is made from full carbon and, with a 1-1/8" to 1-1/4" steerer tube, a 55mm OutFront offset, a flat-mount disc mount and internal cable routing, offers excellent stability and steering precision. It is also fitted with a 12x100mm thru-axle.

The bottom bracket is a Shimano BSA sealed model, whilst the crankset consists of Shimano GRX 600 components and features a 46/30 gear ratio. The cassette is a Shimano HG500 with a range of 11–34 teeth, offering a good range of gears for varying riding conditions.

The handlebars are Cannondale 3, made from butted 6061 alloy with a 16-degree flare drop, which allows for an ergonomic grip position. The grips are wrapped in 3.5mm-thick Cannondale bar tape, which provides additional comfort. The stem is a Cannondale 2, also made from 6061 alloy, with a 31.8mm clamp and a 7-degree angle.

The wheelsets feature Cannondale Disc rims, which are double-walled and tubeless-ready, with 32 spokes at the rear and 28 spokes at the front. The tyres are WTB Resolute Comp in size 700x42c, which are also tubeless-ready. The front hub is a Formula CRX-512 with a 12x100mm thru-axle, and the rear hub is a Mahle X35.

The saddle is a Fizik Aliante Delta with S-alloy rails, which provides extra comfort. The seatpost is a Promax SP-9032 Alloy with a diameter of 27.2mm.

At the heart of the e-bike is the Mahle X35+ motor with an output of 250W, which is powered by a Mahle X35 battery with a capacity of 250Wh. The system is controlled via the integrated Mahle iWOC ONE controller. The battery charger is also manufactured by Mahle.

The bike’s total weight is approximately 53kg, making it a robust yet high-performance companion for a wide range of uses. The price of the Cannondale Topstone Neo SL 2 is 3099 EUR.
