Cannondale Topstone Neo SL 1

The "Topstone Neo SL 1" from Cannondale from 2024 is a versatile e-bike designed for adventures on a wide variety of surfaces. With a price tag of EUR 3599, this model offers a balanced combination of performance and comfort.

The frame of the Topstone Neo SL 1 is made of SmartForm C2 Alloy and is equipped with a 135 mm bolt-on axle, a tapered head tube and flat-mounted disc brakes. The frame also offers several mounting options for pannier racks and bottle cages, making it particularly practical for longer tours. The fork is a full carbon construction with a 1-1/8" to 1-1/4" head tube, 55 mm OutFront offset and internal cable routing, which ensures precise steering and low weight.

The braking system consists of Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes with 160 mm RT56 rotors, which offer reliable braking performance even in wet conditions. The gears are Shimano GRX 812 Shadow RD+ with 11 gears, controlled by Shimano GRX 600 shifters. The crankset is also from Shimano GRX 600 and has a 40T chainring, while the cassette is from the Shimano SLX series with a gradation of 11-42 teeth.

The bike's cockpit consists of a Cannondale 3 handlebar made from 6061 aluminium with a 16 degree flare drop and Cannondale bar tape for additional comfort. The stem is also made of 6061 aluminium and has an angle of 7 degrees. The headset is integrated and ranges from 1.5" at the bottom to 1-1/8" at the top.

The wheels consist of Cannondale Disc rims, which are tubeless-ready and have a double wall. The front hub is a Formula CRX-512 with a 12x100 mm thru-axle system, while the rear hub is a Mahle X35. Both wheels are fitted with WTB Resolute TCS tyres in size 700x42c, which are also tubeless-ready.

The saddle is a Fizik Aliante Delta with S-Alloy rails, mounted on a Promax SP-2032 aluminium seat post with a diameter of 27.2 mm. The drive system is controlled by a Mahle X35+ motor with an output of 250 W and an integrated Mahle iWOC ONE controller. The battery has a capacity of 250 Wh and is charged via a Mahle X35 charger.

With a total weight of around 53 kg, the Topstone Neo SL 1 is robust enough for demanding rides, but still offers the necessary lightness for efficient riding. The model combines modern technology with sophisticated design to offer an all-round successful riding experience.
