BH Bikes ATOM 29

The "ATOM 29" model from BH Bikes, launched in 2023, is a versatile e-mountain bike that impresses with a wide range of technical features and a robust build. The frame is made from a high-quality aluminium alloy, giving the bike a solid yet lightweight structure. With a maximum load capacity of 165 kg and a kerb weight of 23 kg, the bike is suitable for a wide range of uses.

The ATOM 29’s braking system comprises Shimano MT200 components, including the brake levers and brake discs. Both the front and rear are fitted with 180 mm brake discs, ensuring reliable braking performance. The drivetrain is a Shimano Alivio 9-speed system, operated by the Shimano Alivio shift lever. There is no front derailleur, which simplifies maintenance and reduces weight.

The SR Suntour XCM HLO fork offers 100 mm of travel, providing sufficient damping on uneven terrain. The crankset consists of an FSA 36T-170mm crank, complemented by a Shimano CSHG201 sprocket with a gear ratio of 11-36T. Power is transmitted via a Shimano HG53 chain.

The ATOM 29’s cockpit is fitted with a BH MTB Alloy Riser handlebar, which is 780 mm wide. The grips are BH Perform with Ringlock, ensuring a secure grip. The stem is also from BH and features an Ahead design. A tapered headset provides additional stability and precision in the steering.

The tyres are Maxxis Forekaster TPI60 in size 29" x 2.35", mounted on an alloy double-wall wheelset. The front and rear hubs are by Shimano and are connected by stainless steel spokes, ensuring durability and reliability.

The saddle is a Prologo Proxim W350 Stn, mounted on an alloy seatpost with a diameter of 31.6 mm. A quick-release seat clamp allows for easy height adjustment of the saddle.

At the heart of the ATOM 29 is the BH 1E-36V motor, combined with a TS System battery offering a capacity of 500 Wh. The BH X Display Lite shows all the key information and allows for easy control of the electric assistance. A winter battery cover is also included to protect the battery in cold temperatures.

The frame geometry is designed to provide a comfortable and efficient riding position. The key dimensions include a reach of 443 mm, a stack of 676 mm, a seat tube length of 520 mm and a top tube length of 647 mm. The head tube angle is 69 degrees and the seat tube angle is 74 degrees. The head tube length measures 160 mm and the chainstay length is 470 mm, whilst the bottom bracket height is 316 mm.

The ATOM 29 is available at a price of €2,099 and is an attractive option for anyone looking for a reliable and high-performance e-mountain bike.
