Bergamont E-Contrail Pro

The "E-Contrail Pro" model from the "Bergamont" brand, released in 2021, is a high-quality e-mountain bike designed for discerning riders. It is available at a price of 4,299 EUR and offers a wide range of technical features that make it an excellent choice for off-road adventures.

The E-Contrail Pro’s frame is constructed from an ultra-lightweight AL-6061 tube set and is designed for 29-inch wheels. It offers 130 mm of suspension travel and incorporates a PowerTube battery. The maximum permissible weight is 135 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 24 kg.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano hydraulic disc brakes (BR-MT420) with 4-piston calipers and 203 mm rotors on both the front and rear wheels. The brake levers are also from Shimano (BL-MT401), ensuring reliable and consistent braking power.

The E-Contrail Pro is fitted with a Shimano Deore RD-M6100 Shadow Plus 12-speed rear derailleur. The shifter is a Shimano Deore SL-M6100 Rapidfire Plus, which enables precise and fast gear changes. The fork is a Marzocchi Z2 with 130 mm of travel and a 15x110 mm axle, whilst the rear shock is an X-Fusion 02 Pro RLX, which also offers 130 mm of travel and features a 3-position compression adjustment as well as rebound adjustment.

The bike is supplied without pedals, but is fitted with a Bosch Isis bottom bracket and an FSA CK-320 crankset, which has a 34-tooth chainring and a length of 165 mm. The cassette is a Shimano Deore CS-M6100 with a range of 10–51 teeth. Power is transmitted via a KMC e12S chain.

The handlebars are Syncros Hixon 2.0 riser handlebars with a height of 12 mm and a width of 760 mm, combined with Ergon GA20 grips and a Syncros FL2.0 stem with an angle of +/-6 degrees. The headset is a BGM F13-X A-Headset, semi-integrated and tapered.

The bike is fitted with Alex EXR30 rims, which are designed and drilled for disc brakes, with a width of 30 mm. The tyres are Schwalbe Nobby Nic Evo Super Trail in the size 29x2.60 inches. The hubs are Shimano HB-MT400-B (front wheel) and Shimano FH-MT410-B (rear wheel), both with Centre Lock disc mounts and thru-axles (15x110 mm at the front, 12x148 mm at the rear). The spokes are Sapim Leader.

The saddle is a Syncros Tofino 2.5, mounted on a Syncros Duncan 2.5 dropper post with a 150 mm travel (125 mm for frame size S-inch) and a handlebar remote for height adjustment.

Power is provided by a fourth-generation Bosch Performance Line CX Cruise motor with an output of 250 W and a voltage of 36 V, which assists up to a speed of 25 km/h. The battery is a Bosch PowerTube with a capacity of 500 Wh. The display is a Bosch Purion.

The frame geometry features a reach of 429 mm, a stack of 625 mm, a seat tube length of 404 mm, a top tube length of 580 mm and a head tube angle of 66 degrees. The seat tube angle is 76 degrees, the head tube length is 120 mm, the chainstay length is 462 mm and the bottom bracket has a drop of 35 mm. The fork offset is 50 mm, the top tube height is 748 mm, the fork installation height is 544 mm and the overall wheelbase is 1198 mm.
