With 205 watts, the AR FRD is one of the crème de la crème of aerodynamically optimised racing bikes. The eye-catching feature is the frame's chessboard-like carbon structure woven from wide fibre strands.

The fabric is called Textreme and is designed to save weight and make the frame very robust. The equipment follows the motto "everything that works": Shimano's Dura-Ace Di2 including Sprinter shifters, Zipp 404 wheels, expensive lightweight brakes, Pioneer power meter, stem with integrated Garmin holder. However, the full equipment drives the price up to astronomical levels. A longitudinal slot covered by a silicone lip is supposed to take some of the harshness out of the aero seatpost - an intention that is unfortunately thwarted by the rock-hard saddle. The long top tube forces the rider into a rather stretched seating position, which the aerodynamically shaped handlebars with their enormous pre-bend then extend to stretched bench length.

CONCLUSION One of the fastest and most expensive bikes on the market. Spectacular equipment incl. power meter, hardly any comfort
