As the supplier of the EF Education EasyPost team, Cannondale is known among many cycling fans for its particularly colourful racing bikes. Now the US company wants to score points with a particularly lightweight racing bike frame: the SuperSix EVO lightweight LTD frameset. It is said to weigh just 750 grams including all small parts.
The manufacturer promises that it is the "most refined SuperSix EVO of all time". Anyone wanting to purchase one of these framesets should hurry, as only 200 of these individually numbered special models will be produced. The black carbon construction will be available in frame sizes 51, 54, 56 and 58 from selected dealers. Cost: 4999 euros. More information about the frame set and the dealers where it is available can be found here.
The racing bike innovation is already in the professional peloton at the current Vuelta a Espana to marvel at. Rigoberto Uran from the EF Education EasyPost team is riding the lightweight frameset. The mountain specialist's Cannondale SuperSix EVO is number 113 and comes with Vision Metron 55 wheels, a Vision Metron 5D carbon cockpit, a Prologo Scratch M5 saddle and Speedplay pedals from Wahoo.
According to EF Education EasyPost, the Colombian has fitted a 54 chainring at the front and a gear ratio of 11-34 teeth at the rear. His choice of tyres is 26 millimetre wide Corsa tyres from Vittoria.
"I like my new bike," says Uran about his SuperSix EVO. "It's lighter than my previous one and I like the colour. I feel perfect on it at the moment. Of course, I'm the one who has to ride it up the mountains, but having this bike is a big plus. I already felt very good on the climbs with the previous SuperSix and I'm sure I'll do even better with this bike. It transfers power very well," says the 35-year-old.
It is not yet clear whether Uran will also be seen on a SuperSix EVO in 2023. The future of the veteran, who has been riding Cannondale bikes for Jonathan Vaughters' team since 2016, is still open. His contract expires at the end of 2022 and the team has already signed another top rider, Richard Carapaz, for the major national tours.
